Older Youth

Logos Ministry

Logos Ministry is a youth function at First Christian Church with a meaning of transforming lives and congregations "Where you are a child of God, and you will be treated that way." It is divided into two sessions. First sessions starts Wednesday September 14, 2011 and every Wednesday thereafter until December 7, 2011 with the exception of November 23rd. The second sessions begins February 1, 2012 and ends April 18, 2012. Starting time is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Age is Kindergarten through 12th grade. Dinner is served along with recreation, Worship Skills and Bible Study.

Youth Group 7th grade through 12th grade also meet on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tim Whitmore is the group leader. Activities include fund raisers, lock-ins, mission trips and much more. This group attends CRY (Christian Regional Youth) during the summer.

Youth Summer Activities

The youth will meet on specific Wednesday nights depending on scheduled activities in the months of June, July and August.

Youth Sunday

Youth Sunday is the first Sunday of each month. The youth serve communion and are the worship leaders. Starting in November, 2011 the youth will be responsible for both worship services, 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Community Cafe

The youth from First Christian Church serves at the Community Café on the third Monday of each month. The meal is prepared usually by the Youth Coordinator or members of the church. Serving time is 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Sunday School

Sunday School is available for youth age 3 through 12th grade. The elementary age uses the Standard Heartshaper curriculum with the motto of "Shaping Hearts with God's Word." Starting October 16, 2011, Sunday school time will be 10:15 a.m.

Youth Camps

Youth Camps are available for all ages 2nd grade through 12th grade. The church pays for half of the cost if submitted before April 30th. For those who can not afford their portion, scholarships are available.
