Department Ministries
Property Department:
Providing building and grounds maintenance is an understatement when it comes to describing this department. They are tireless in their efforts to keep the church bus, facility, lawn and parking lot in great condition and are regularly called on to update and renovate. This is the ultimate "home improvement" team.
Worship Department:
The worship department assists the minister in planning and implementing the worship services and special worship events. Monthly meetings are held to discuss the worship service calendar, the components of the worship service and enhancements to enrich the worship experience. This may include planning special music presentations, coordinating children's service, Christmas worship services, baptisms, baby dedications, ordering special devotional materials and flowers. The chairperson also oversees the Abiding Memorial Committee, as well as the Communion Stewards chairperson, the music director and the organist in order to provide spiritual and meaningful worship services each Sunday.
Fellowship:
Food brings people together! Organizing and preparing meals for various church functions is what we do best! The Fellowship Department also coordinates meals and entertainment for the Diamond Disciples Seniors group.
Stewardship:
All financial maintenance and supervision of church financial records are monitored by this department. A variety of campaigns and budget management procedures are utilized to insure a healthy and accurate system.
Elders:
The elders of FCC are in a spiritual partnership with the congregation, they encourage one another to be in touch with how God is working in their lives. They offer a prayer at the communion table each Sunday, serve communion to the homebound and those in assisted living facilities, and assist the minister and the congregation in spiritual growth.
Deacons:
The diaconate serve communion during the sanctuary service each Sunday and also to those who are homebound or in assisted living facilities. Youth in grades 7-12 serve communion the first Sunday of each month.

Membership Department
We serve as the welcome team for new members to provide information and support to them as they get better acquainted with their new home here at FCC. We sponsor celebrations, which vary from year to year, to welcome our new families. The membership department is also responsible for supporting the efforts of events such as creating a church directory and updating information in our computer system.
Christian Education Department
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 We put the learning aspects of our faith journey as a priority. Our department focus is Sunday school classes for all ages, infant-adult. To get the best feel for for what class might be best for you or your child, ask around, or come try it out! The Christian Education Department also supports the adult library , purchasing educational materials, youth activities including LOGOS, and one of our biggest events, Vacation Bible School. Although VBS is led by our youth coordinator, this department, along with many other volunteers, makes a commitment to come together to provide a week of wonderful memories for children in the Sedalia community.
